Naspers – Assistant Control

Salary: € 45.000 - € 50.000,-

As an Assistant Controller at Naspers you will work in an international, dynamic and ambitious organization. As an Assistant Controller you will report directly to the Finance Manager who will support you further in your development as a finance professional. Naspers is looking for an enthusiastic team player who is eager to be stretched to think and creatively solves problems. You are responsible for the accounting and reporting of multiple legal entities within the Dutch structure, reporting of the local national banks and following up on ad hoc requests and projects. Within Naspers you will be challenged to develop yourself as you get the opportunity to involve yourself in internal improvements, making the finance function more efficient and structured. There is a new finance system implemented, and the opportunities are endless when it comes to developing processes and finding ways to make things more efficient. The ideal candidate has some experience with administrations, has managed projects in a multinational company and has a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.


Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Follow up on ad hoc requests/projects such as driving the interface of the treasury system into the accounting system and establishing efficiencies in the current processes
  • Cooperation with and support to other finance teams (corporate and business), being an important sparring partner to them
  • Involved with the annual forecast and budgets
  • Accounting and reporting of multiple legal entities within the Dutch structure
  • Monthly closing in SAP
  • Recording of payments, bank reconciliation and preparation of journals
  • Intercompany transactions and interest calculations
  • Preparation and revising of annual statutory financial statements and filing reports
  • Local national banks reporting


Education and personal skills

  • A bachelor degree in Finance/accounting
  • A few years’ experience with the administration of multiple entities in a multi-national group
  • Strong knowledge of excel
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize within a dynamic fast paced working environment working with strong deadlines
  • Taking initiative and be self-starting
