Teva Pharmachemie – Assistant Controller

Salary: € 50.000 - € 58.000,-

As assistant controller for Teva Pharmachemie you will work in an international, fast changing and challenging environment. You will report to the Financial Controller in regards to all financial and accounting activities. The position has a broad spectrum of different tasks and responsibilities, besides this you will also work on ad hoc projects such as process improvements. The assistant controller is supporting all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures for a number of legal entities (Sales of raw materials, transport & warehousing entities). Support in overall Fixed Asset process for all other entities is also part of the responsibilities. The ideal candidate has a degree in finance or economics, a minimum of 5 years of experience and a hands-on, proactive approach.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Create monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts
  • Examine all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reviews
  • Suggest updates and improvements for accounting systems
  • Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported including SOX Compliancy
  • Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with government regulations and legislation
  • Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations
  • Collaborate with various internal stakeholders (FSC, Local Accounting, Sales, Logistics, Legal/TAX, others)
  • Actively support in, or lead, process improvement or compliancy projects
  • Pro-actively partnering with business and advise them in financial query’s
  • Presenting reports to senior executives, stakeholders, and board members
  • Report to the Financial Controller with timely and accurate financial information
  • Additional controller duties as necessary

Education and Personal skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, or a related field
  • Proven working experience as an Assistant (Financial) controller
  • +5 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, accurate, service minded
  • Good team player as well as independently functioning
  • Flexible and able to work with tight deadlines
